Michael is a popular Christian songwriter, recording artist, and bestselling author. His compositions include the Gospel Music Association’s 1983 Song of the Year, “El Shaddai.” He has released twenty recordings and has written or co-written nine books. Joe Stowell serves as Teaching Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. His first love is Jesus Christ and preaching His Word. An internationally recognized conference speaker, Joe has written numerous books including The Trouble with Jesus, Following Christ, Simply Jesus and You, and Radical Reliance.
Joe also works with RBC Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan, partnering in media productions. His web-based ministry, Strength for the Journey www.getmorestrength.org features daily devotionals in audio, text and podcast formats, weekly messages and commentary, downloadable Bible study curriculum for individuals and small groups, and an audio library of his most requested messages.
Joe serves on the Board of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He is a graduate of Cedarville University and Dallas Theological Seminary and was honored with a doctor of divinity degree from The Master's College in 1987. He served as the seventh president of The Moody Bible Institute from 1987-2005.
Joe and his wife, Martie, are the parents of three adult children and ten grandchildren. They make their home in suburban Chicago.

Warren W. Wiersbe, former pastor of the Moody Church and general director of Back to the Bible, has traveled widely as a Bible teacher and conference speaker. Because of his encouragement to those in ministry, Dr. Wiersbe is often referred to as "the pastor’s pastor." He has ministered in churches and conferences throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Central and South America, and Europe. Dr. Wiersbe has written over 150 books, including the popular BE series of commentaries on every book of the Bible, which has sold more than four million copies. At the 2002 Christian Booksellers Convention, he was awarded the Gold Medallion Lifetime Achievement Award by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Dr. Wiersbe and his wife, Betty, live in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Emily Ryan spent her post-college years as an active member of the largest singles ministry in Houston, Texas, where she first taught the principles in this book as a Bible study. Though Emily is now married, this book is the result of her studies and research as a single.
Dr. Margaret Brand
Book: Vision for God
Dr. Margaret Brand grew up in a medical family, became a physician herself, and, along with her husband, the late Dr. Paul Brand (d. 2003), raised a family of six children, many of whom are associated with medicine. Paul and Margaret served on the staff of the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore, S. India, for approximately 18 years. During their time in India the Brands became interested in and challenged by the problems of people suffering from Hansen’s Disease, more commonly known as leprosy. Paul, the orthopedist, specialized in hands and feet, while Margaret worked with eye problems. Soon after they left India they were invited by the United States Federal Government to work at Carville, Louisiana. There, Margaret served for 22 years as Chief of Ophthalmology at Gillis W. Long National Hansen’s Disease Center. Dr. Margaret, now 85, is officially retired, but maintains a busy schedule, speaking and traveling around the world.

After more then 20 years of pastoral ministry in Michigan, West Virginia, and California, Bill serves in a dual role as Director of Church Ministries and Director of Publications for RBC Ministries (Radio Bible Class), in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His commitment is the clear and practical teaching of the Bible. Bill has also been involved in the ministry of the Word through training young men for pastoral ministry at Bible institutes in Russia and West Africa, leading study trips to Israel, and providing Bible teaching for Gull Lake Ministries (Michigan) and the Winter Bible Conference in Boca Raton, Florida. He and his wife, Marlene, have five childrenMatt, Beth, Steve, Andy, and Mark—and a small, but growing number of grandchildren.
Shelly Beach

Shelly Beach, a native of western Michigan, is a graduate of Oakland University (BA) and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary (MRE). Her 30-year career in communication includes high school English instruction, college writing instruction, and working in various roles as a writer, including political writing, editing, consulting, as well as speaking at conferences throughout the Midwest. She currently works with a fund development company in Michigan, writing marketing materials and coordinating development projects. She also teaches business writing classes at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her writing has been published in both secular and religious markets in a wide variety of genres, including poetry, short stories, feature articles, and interviews. Shelly’s contemporary novel, Hallie’s Heart (Kregel Publishers) was released in February of 2007 and explores the topics of guilt and forgiveness. Her book of meditations for caregivers, Precious Lord, Take My Hand (Discovery House) will be released in April 2007. An additional title on the topic of spiritual formation through caregiving will be released by Discovery House in January of 2008.
Shelly is the co-founder of the Cedar Falls Christian Writers’ Workshop in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and is a member of the Christian Authors’ Network. Shelly and her husband Dan, a Christian school superintendent, reside in Sparta, Michigan, near Grand Rapids. For the past seven years, Shelly and Dan have provided in-home care for their parents.

She has taught high school English in both public and private schools. She and her husband, Scott, have two young children and live in Georgia.

Dr. Gary Inrig is senior pastor of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Redlands, California, where he has served since 1992. A native of Canada and a graduate of the University of British Columbia (B.A.) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., D.Min.), he has been in pastoral ministry for more than thirty years, having pastored for seventeen years at Bethany Chapel in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; at Reinhardt Bible Church in Dallas, Texas for three years, and since 1992 at Trinity Church, Redlands. He taught for three years at what is now Providence College and Seminary in Manitoba, and has since served as a visiting or adjunct faculty at several seminaries and Bible colleges in North America. He has served in Christian Ministry for over forty years and had an extensive conference ministry in the United States and Canada, and has spoken in countries on each of the continents.
His wife Elizabeth, who holds the D.Min degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, serves alongside him at Trinity Church, as director of Women’s Ministries. She previously served as National Director of Women’s Ministries for the Evangelical Free Church of America. The Inrigs have three married children and seven grandchildren. Gary is the author of nine books, among those being Quality Friendship, True North, The Parables: Understanding What Jesus Meant, Whole Marriages in a Broken World, 1&2 Kings in the Holman Old Testament Commentary, Forgiveness, and Hearts of Iron, Feet of Clay (revised). Elizabeth, who holds a D. Min. degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, is the author of Releasing Your Potential.

When Life Takes What Matters
Susan Lenzkes is a writer, speaker, Bible-study leader, and the alto in a singing group called Two Plus One. Twelve of her devotional pieces are included in the Women’s Devotional Bible. For the past 28 years she has written the poems for each themed bi-monthly issue of Selwyn Hughes’ daily devotional guide Every Day with Jesus, published in England by CWR ministries and distributed worldwide.
Through the insights shared in her easy-to-read books, many people have been comforted and blessed, especially as she relates the struggles and pain that came with losing her husband to cancer after more than thirty years of marriage. People often say they laugh and cry their way through her books, read them more than once, and give them as gifts.
Susan lives in San Diego, California, where she enjoys reading, friends and family, traveling, singing, writing greeting cards and flower arranging. She has three grown, married children that she describes as uniquely delightful.

David McCasland is the author of the ECPA Gold Medallion award-winning biography, Oswald Chambers: Abandoned to God (Discovery House, 1993). He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and Wheaton College Graduate School. His other books include Pinstripe Parables (Discovery House, 1995), and Blind Courage (WRS Publishing, 1992), co-authored with Bill Irwin, the first blind person to hike the Appalachian Trail. McCasland is also the compiler and editor of the Complete Works of Oswald Chambers (Discovery House, 2000).
David writes for Our Daily Bread and develops biographical programs for Day of Discovery television. These television biographies include C .S. Lewis, Oswald Chambers, Eric Liddell, Dr. George Washington Carver, Francis and Edith Schaeffer, and Isaac Watts.
David taught writing and communication for 2 years at Daystar University in Kenya, and taught English at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado.
David and his wife, Luann, have four adult children and live in Colorado.

Haddon Robinson is a well-known speaker and a featured teacher on the Discover the Word radio program. Regarded as one of the greatest preachers of the 20th century, Dr. Robinson heads the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Dr. Robinson, a native of New York City, has completed graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., 1955), Southern Methodist University (M.A., 1960), and University of Illinois (Ph.D., 1964). He received an honorary degree (D.D.) from Gordon College.

Idaho Mountain Ministries is a ministry of encouragement to pastoral couples in Idaho and surrounding states.
